As part of Bercow: Ten Years On, a project designed to examine support for children and young people with SLCN in England, I CAN and the Royal College of Speech and Language (RCSLT) have launched an inquiry.
This inquiry, taking place ten years after the landmark 2008 Bercow Review led by John Bercow MP, is in response to concerns about the support for children and young people with SLCN amid major changes in the education and health system.
The Bercow: Ten Years On project team are inviting individuals and organisations to contribute. There are two immediate ways to take part:
This first phase is aimed at a wide range of stakeholders who work with or support children with SLCN, or who have responsibility for providing services including practitioners, parents and carers, children and young people, commissioners, employers, academics and wider education and not-for-profit organisations.
In addition to this, watch out for phase two of gathering evidence when I CAN and the RCSLT will be seeking the views of parents, carers and young people launching later in March 2017.
