The Driver Youth Trust is a national charity dedicated to improving the life chances of children and young people with a focus on those with literacy difficulties and who may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, particularly children with dyslexia.
We are looking to appoint a Business Development Executive who will be responsible for marketing and recruiting schools to the charity’s flagship programme Drive for Literacy and our online resources. The challenge will be to highlight to schools how Drive for Literacy is an effective programme to build capacity for high-quality teaching in schools.
The focus of your role is to maximise income, raise the profile of the organisation, and grow and develop our partnership with schools. Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are paramount. The ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines is also essential. Driver Youth Trust uses its own funding to subsidise its activities, we do not fundraise.
Your role will be to support the business development to meet annual targets. This role is both challenging and rewarding, and will give the successful candidate an opportunity to develop a career in business development within the education and third sector. You will act as the main point of contact for all leads which will require you to be an excellent all-round communicator; face-to-face, email and via telephone. An understanding of working with schools will put candidates at a distinct advantage.
