10th June 2019

DYT’s Top story:

This week we learnt that the training centre to support the 34 English Hubs will be run by Ruth Miskin Training. I have written a blog looking at the improvements DYT would like to see and whether the Hubs have the capacity to provide it.

News Update:

It has been reported that Theresa May wants to announce a “multi billion programme” to overhaul schools before she leaves office. The PM has urged Chancellor Philip Hammond to increase the budget over the next three years with more funding for failing schools and teacher training a priority.

How nursery rhymes can tackle dyslexia

In this week’s TES magazine, neuroscientist Professor Usha Goswami claims that rhymthic languague helps children to develop language and especially for those with dyslexia.

DYT’s Month Ahead:

Friday 14th – Festival of Education Sheffield

Saturday 15th – ResearchEd Rugby

Thursday 20th –  Friday 21st FESTIVAL OF EDUCATION

See our website for more information about sessions and times.
