Professional Learning
Our professional learning opportunities cover a breadth of topics around literacy, SEND and inclusion. Choose from a range of workshop topics, including those listed below, or collaborate with one of our experts to create a bespoke session. We can work with your whole staff team, an identified group or key individuals such as your SENCo or Literacy Lead.
For Multi Academy Trusts, or Teaching School Alliances, we offer a package of 6 workshops at a discounted rate.

Governors
While most schools have a SEND Governor, ensuring the ongoing achievement and success of SEND learners is a collective responsibility of the governing body. It is, therefore, the role of every governing body to ensure that no learner is treated less favourably or denied opportunity because they have additional needs
Following the launch of the 2018 SEND Governance Review Guide, Driver Youth Trust is offering training to governing board members so they can hold leaders to account for the education of all learners including those with SEND.

Initial Teacher Education
We provide teacher training sessions on literacy, SEND and inclusion. These sessions draw on the latest educational research and will complement your initial teacher or NQT programme. Make sure your teacher trainees are fully equipped to support every child in their classrooms. See examples of training delivered below.

Harris Federation ITE
Since 2017 we have delivered termly training for Harris Federation Initial Teacher Education. Sessions have examined topics such as dyslexia, literacy difficulties, support strategies, struggling readers and writers and inclusive books (around World Book Day).

University of Roehampton
We have delivered training to the teacher training cohort at the University of Roehampton on ‘The curious teacher – an exploration of including children with SEND in the classroom’.
