Driver Youth Trust provides learning and development opportunities for staff at all levels of the school structure to better support young people with their literacy.
Inclusive structures, processes and attitudes in the education system are the answer to ensuring better outcomes for all young people. We work with schools to identify where support is needed.
Drive for Literacy
Drive for Literacy is our flagship programme to increase teacher capability and school capacity to support children with literacy difficulties. From leaders to teaching assistants, SENCos to parents and governors, one of our experts will work collaboratively with your whole school on a annual cycle of continued support that will improve literacy provision for all students.
Benefit from the objective eye of one of our experts in literacy and SEND. We can work in partnership with school leaders, teaching staff, governors and parents to address and advise on areas you have identified. Consultancy days can include learning walks, book scrutiny, meeting with focus groups or individuals, signposting to resources, and coaching for new middle leaders. For example we could work with a SENCo on exam access arrangements, or with a Literacy Lead on interventions.
For support in identifying areas of need, our experts are available to conduct an audit in collaboration with you which will assess your current literacy provision. They will then recommend how you can build your capacity to better identify and support learners with their literacy in a comprehensive audit report.
We like to hear what people have to say. Here are some of our success stories.
